EVENT DATE Mar 21, 2016
For my birthday, I'm asking for a car.
Actually, not just a car, but a van. A big van. I'm asking for a big van, a big van that can seat 15 kids.
I've chosen to donate my 25th birthday for 30 days to raise funds for a program van for youth project Climbing Borders, that can transport more kids, save the program gas money, and be an investment in the youth project in Monterrey, Mexico.
Check it, amigos:
HERE'S WHY this is an awesome birthday present:
- Our project ROCKS! We educate at-risk youth to be rock climbers, outdoor stewards, community leaders, and students of life in Mexico.
- Transport limits our outreach. Volunteer cars only have 5 seatbelts; as a result, every weekend we enlist three volunteer cars. The team has to train in small groups during the week.
- Gas, though often paid by volunteers, is almost a half of Climbing Borders' program expenses. Program expenses would be more sustainable by taking one van in place of three volunteer cars.
- We want to expand! Currently our programs needs are met for climbing equipment, program operations, and volunteers, but transport to climbing areas is currently our most limiting factor.
In other words, it helps youth in great need in Mexico, will be very cost effective, and extremely beneficial to the program's sustainability.
You can find out more about our program at EscalandoFronteras.Org and see our activity on Facebook.

I hope to see this fundraiser come true, and to educate more kids outdoors more effectively this year in 2016.
