Biscuits Medical Bills
Organized by: Cindy Oswald
This fundraiser is for my dog, Biscuit. He is a beige pomeranian and yorkie mix and he is about 10 years o!d. I adopted him from a relative about 8 years ago. He seemed to be a very healthy and energetic dog until October 2013. On Halloween day I had noticed that he was walking around outside constantly straining to urinate but couldn't. That evening I took him to the emergency vet where I found out that he had urinary stones and that he was completely blocked. They pushed the stones back to unblock his bladder with a catheter temporarily. The following day surgery was required to removed the stones from his bladder. He recovered well from the surgery. He was later diagnosed with a disease where his body makes these stones. He continued to see a specialist to keep a tab on his condition and seemed to be doing well until March of this year when he got sick again. He started running a fever and got dehydrated. He was taken to the vet and treated but had to go to the emergency vet to stay overnight. He was very sick and was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. He had stones blocking his ureter and kidney. Again he needed surgery. This surgery was life-saving surgery. Either he had to have the surgery or be put to sleep. I chose for him to have the surgery even though it was very expensive. We didn't know whether he would make it through or not since he was so sick, the chances weren't so good that he would make it. I just wanted to give him a chance to live. Well he made it and is doing well even though he has regular appointments to monitor his condition which can be very costly as well. I lost my job earlier in the year do to a layoff so it has been financially difficult for me. I dont have pet insurance since by the time I even realized that he was sick it was too late to buy the insurance. The financial costs have been very overwhelming and I would appreciate any help that I can get because I love my dog very much and didn't want to lose him. Thank you from the bottom of my heart even if you can't do anything but pray for me and my dog.
