BENEFITING: BLACKBURN UNIVERSITY
INTRODUCING BEAVER BASICS: College can be difficult at times. There is tuition to pay for, room and board, books, and all sorts of incidental expenses. In our work with students, we often find that many have little left over to pay for basic necessities like toiletries and personal care items. That is why we are creating the Beaver Basics Fund, to close the gap and help low-income students get some of the items they need to stay healthy and succeed at school.
To address this need, we have created a closet in the Student Life Office, and we are stocking it with toothbrushes, toothpaste, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, laundry detergent, and dryer sheets. Students in need can come in to request items or an advocate can do so on their behalf. The only request is that students who take advantage of this service will remember this act of generosity and, when they can afford to, pay it forward to the next generation of Blackburn students.
To ensure the success of this program, we need your help. We need to stock up on supplies for the coming academic year, and we are asking our alumni and friends to lend a hand. Your generous monetary gift will assist us with the purchase of supplies. We are building a culture of philanthropy on campus, and we invite you to be a part of it. Make a gift to the Beaver Basics Fund today, and help students get the everyday items that will help them achieve their best.
Thanks Beaver Nation!
