Black Run Cyril

THE STORY:

My friend Cyril was a keen mountain biker, LLandegla was his home turf, going two or three times a week and even for his 60th birthday last year, celebrated with a small brandy at the top!

Unfortunately, last October, Cyril fell off his mtb in Machynlleth and broke his neck. He was airlifted to Cardiff hospital, and more recently moved to Southport. After being in and out of intensive care for a couple of months, he pulled through, although now is confined to a wheel chair for the rest of his life, paralised from his neck down.

Cyril has a lovely wife and daughter and they just want him home, although he cannot return until the house has been modified for disabled use. Unfortunately, the govt. cannot assist for another 12 months, although Cyril could return home today.

Amazingly, I already have support from several local businesses, including Read Construction, the Builder Centre and Cheshire Waste, and an army of plumbers, electricians and labourers, ready to turn his house around, so Cyril can return home with his family.

I am starting a fundraising exercise, for a fallen mountain biking buddy, and was wondering if you could make a small donation, or maybe a mention on your Facebook when we get going?

Any help, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated, especially by Cyril and his family. It’s a desperate situation we just want to help make the remainder of his time more comfortable and manageable, as soon as possible.

All donors/supporters will be mentioned in a press release which Read Construction will push forward with local, regional, perhaps national papers.
