Ainsley's Angels is thrilled to help ensure Justin can soon roll with the wind in his very own Blade by Team Hoyt Running Chairs! As the father of a very special girl that races with me, I know the positive energy surrounding the start line, the togetherness of every member preparing to "roll with the wind", and the love we all have for each other is a therapy like no other.
This is a little bit about Justin:
Justin was injured in a car accident when he was 5 years old, which also took the life of his oldest brother. In the car crash the right side of Justin's skull was crushed leaving him in a coma for six weeks and in the hospital for six months. Justin was diagnosed with a severe Traumatic Brain Injury. Justin has had thirteen surgery's including a hemispherectomy, removing the right side of Justin's brain. The initial injury left him partially paralyzed. Because of this there are a lot of things Justin will not be able to do on his own. I have been running for a couple of years now and would really love to involve Justin in this. Every year we also do the Pikes Peak Challenge for the Brain Injury Alliance of Colorado, which is a hike up to the top of Pikes Peak. This year we want to bring Justin along and push him to the top of the mountain. Justin and I ran our first 5K with his normal wheel chair and quickly realized that if we are going to continue on this journey that we would need an amazing wheel chair for these adventures. After a lot of research we decided that Team Hoyt "Blade" would be the right chair for us.
Thank you very much,
