Blanca's House requests your support to make a difference in the lives of the people of Ecuador. A group of Junior Volunteers and Team Leaders will be embarking on our first non-medical mission to Guayaquil, Ecuador in July 2013. The goal of our volunteer team is to build four entire Operating Suites at la Clínica Centro de Salud in conjunction with the nonprofit foundation El Cielo para los Niños de Ecuador. The less fortunate children of Ecuador do not receive the medical attention they need, because adequate medical resources are not available in the outlying rural areas where they live. Additionally, the lack of social welfare makes it impossible for children to have operations they need.
Beyond the construction phase, Blanca’s House is committed to providing an up-to-date surgical facility to be used by other medical non-profits traveling to Ecuador. The Clinic is located on the outskirts of Guayaquil. With reduced travel time, medical professionals are able to increase the number of children cared for during a medical mission. Transporting children and their families to the clinic from rural areas is more cost-effective.
The complete architectural plans for the renovation of the entire clinic are in place, therefore, this will be an ongoing project; progressing as funds are raised. The total cost of the construction is $100,000.00.
Upon completion, the facility will be jointly operated by Blanca’s House and la Clínica Centro de Salud. Not only will it serve as a medical facility, but as a learning institute offering Spanish and English language lessons, medical seminars, student observational experiences and hands-on learning.
The operating rooms will also be made available to other non-profit organizations providing free healthcare for the people of Ecuador.
