Bleatniks Barnyard Farm Animal Sanctuary
Organized by: Team Bleatnik
Lots of Spring projects in the works!
May 01, 2016
Hi! My partner Jim and I have decided to dedicate our lives to helping anyone who bleats, brays, baas, clucks, crows, or squeals. That's why we just started a sanctuary to rescue abused farm animals and give them the forever home that they deserve.
We live in a very rural area of North Carolina where there are so many animals in dire need of help. So far, we've been able to rescue Sam, a baby donkey who was being hit, kicked and fed scraps of bread, and Dorothy, a chicken who endured two surgeries and a 3 week stay at a veterinarian hospital after she was found abandoned, with a severely broken wing that was protruding through her skin. We've also rescued one other donkey, three more chickens, and three goats from equally dismal fates.
We want to be able to help as many animals as we can, but we are funding this ourselves, and would be very grateful for any assistance. In order to continue to provide for the animals we have, and to help even more animals, we need to make sure we can fund healthcare, expand and winterize our barn and finish fencing and preparing more pastures for future residents.
On behalf of two "bleatniks" and our barnyard buddies, thank you. We look forward to sharing stories, updates and pics of our furry and feathered family.
