I am trying to help a dear friend of mine who has found herself fighting an illness which is very hard to treat. She is an amazing strong women and even greater mom to her little boy. She has such a positive attitude an embraces each step with a smile on her face. She never asks for a thing and is even helpful to others when she can all the while putting her own needs aside. I think she deserves a blessing and a chance to fight this nasty illness. She has to travel back an forth to Baltimore to the specialist who know more about her illness an how to treat it. We all know how that can get expensive. Several trips and hotel stays food medical bills etc can add up. Not to mention her regular bills and her little boy who she gives her best to...HERE IS A LITTLE INFO TO HER ILLNESS... In her words " I was diagnosed with Polymyositis a little over 4 years ago which is a rare muscle skeletal autoimmune disease that for me effects my lungs, legs and arms and other muscles. It's been compared to MS as it shares some similarities and people tend to be a bit more familiar with that disease than they are with PM. To say the least.....it completely changed my life. I see several specialists for this disease locally, and in addition I see neurologists, pulmonologists and rheumatologists at the Myositis Research Center at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore MD. So a couple of times a year we make that trek to MD to determine the continued path of treatment for me. So far it has been 22 oral meds, 3 chemotherapy medications-2 that are infusions and one that is oral several times each month, lots of physical therapy and other infusion" ...She has currently relapsed in her treatment and the doctors in Baltimore want her to be there for several tests and treatment monitoring but with a small child and expenses it makes it next to impossible. That's why I am asking you to let's share the chance to make this possible for her along with medications or anything she may need help with.... Even if we all give a little, every bit counts. She has her an her son. Let's show some love an support as I know she would do the same if it were anyone else. Thanks so much
