BENEFITING: Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue
Darius is a petite Golden Retriever mix found on the streets of Turkey by a local rescue volunteer. Blind from congenital defects, he was left to fend for himself and in pain from the swelling in one eye. Desperate for help, the Turkish rescue group reached out to Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue. There was a passenger headed to L.A. and Darius could hitch a ride with 2 other pups to find his American dream. We just couldn't say no to this sweet love bug. There are plenty of folks who will love and provide a safe haven for this amazing boy! After his safe arrival on June 3 into LAX and settling into a loving foster home, Darius checked in to Eye Care For Animals in Tustin. His right eye had significant pressure and was at risk of rupturing so time was of the essence. His left eye is without sight and needed anti-inflammation and anti-glaucoma drops. He did GREAT in Surgery yesterday and is resting comfortably back in his foster home. Can you think of anything more challenging that being blind, groggy from anesthesia AND wearing a cone? The Tess McIntyre Foundation heard about this guy and it touched their heart and matched their mission. They have offered to MATCH YOUR DONATION up to $1500 to cover the costs of Darius' care. So your double your donation to SCGRR in honor of Darius today! And if you want to eventually adopt Darius, get started by filling out an application at http://scgrrescue.org/how-to-adopt
