BENEFITING: Hyper IgM Foundation
EVENT DATE: Oct 22, 2016
Bloody Long Way is a not-for-profit fundraiser raising awareness and funds for people suffering from Primary Immune Deficiencies.
This year we are working with and raising funds for The Hyper IgM Foundation.
The Hyper IgM Foundation Hyper IgM Foundation, a non-profit organization, was founded in 2015 by dedicated parents, healthcare professionals and friends. Their mission is to improve the treatment, quality of life and the long term outlook for children and adults living with Hyper IgM through research, support, education, and advocacy to families and patients.
Hyper IgM Syndrome is a very rare, one-in-a-million, and potentially life-threatening genetic mutation that severely compromises the immune system. The most common form of Hyper IgM is X-Linked Hyper IgM, which primarily affects boys, except in rare cases.
On Saturday the 22nd of October 2016, a group of bike riders will ride from Westerfolds Park to the city and back (50km’s) as part of this years Bloody Long Way fundraiser. A BBQ will be held at the park from 12pm-3pm to welcome home our riders. Food and BLW merchandise will be available to purchase on the day.
