In 2003 Wheeler Mission came to us with an idea: would we help them start a Thanksgiving Day race to support the Mission and the homeless in our community. We enthusiastically said “yes” and brought in one of our vendor partners, Brooks, to help with the cause. We opened our doors for packet pickup, and encouraged our friends and neighbors to get involved. We never dreamed our little neighborhood Broad Ripple event would grow so large and become the organization’s top fundraiser! We’ve changed the course to accommodate the thousands of folks who participate each year, and our custom-made participant shirts have become an icon! While we’ve grown out of having packet pickup in our store and moved to the high school gym next door, the Drumstick Dash is still a family event and a celebration of community spirit and responsibility. There are many ways you can help, and one is to support the BlueMile team! Run or walk with us, or donate to our staff and friends who are doing the Drumstick Dash. Every little bit helps. Thank you for helping Team BlueMile support your community.
