EVENT DATE: Mar 10, 2014
As an impulsive teenager, I decided to take a trip to the Dominican Republic. No, not to party in Punta Cana, but to build an aqueduct in a village that had no access to clean water. During the two weeks I spent in the village I carried pipes on my back through the jungle, mixed cement WITHOUT a cement mixer (great arm workout btw), and became an expert at turning trash into mini-golf courses and the official founder of coconut hockey. The experiences I had with the people of the village and witnessing their reactions as the water arrived, altered the course of my life. Fast forward 4 years later: back in the US, I am studying International Development so I can make greater contributions to the social and economic conditions in impoverished regions of the world. This spring, I need your help so I can continue to learn and follow my purpose by returning to the D.R. to bring clean water to another village! For more information about the water project, go to http://www.bluemissions.org/ and take a look at the organization that I live for.
