Brannon is still in the fight against Intratesticular Rhabdomyosarcoma. After becoming aware of a lump in the right testicle, he had an Orchiectomy to remove the tumor in January of 2016 . Luckily, it was diagnosed as Stage 1- T2 which is early and fairly contained, but it came back as Rhabdomyosarcoma, which is both rare and aggressive in adults. He then underwent a more serious abdominal surgery (RPLND) to remove the Lymph nodes near his kidneys. Fortunately, all of the nodes tested negative for any spread of the cancer.
The next step in the journey is adjuvant chemotherapy to hopefully rid him of any remaining cancer cells and give him the best possible chance at a long life.
Brannon's chemotherapy regimen is a 24 week (6 month) course. His first round of chemo will begin October 10th here in Tucson at the University of Arizona Cancer Center. We are raising funds to help him and his family through his battle. Because Brannon's insurance re-starts in October, rather than January, we are helping to pay for his deductible, out of pocket medical expenses, travel, and his potential loss in wages as he will be missing work throughout his treatment. (Brannon works at a small machine shop that doesn’t offer paid medical leave or personal time off.)
