BENEFITING: EDGE OF SEVEN INC
EVENT DATE: Mar 31, 2013
In rural Nepal, girls face many barriers in their quest to receive an education, whether it is poverty, a lack of infrastructure, or cultural beliefs that girls should marry early and tend to household chores. Edge of Seven, works to remove these barriers for girls and helps communities across the developing world realize their hopes for a better future.
Edge of Seven's Building Up Girls campaign will make it possible for girls in Nepal and Tanzania to reach greater heights through higher education.

Did you know that TODAY in 2013 social status and caste still prevent higher education for girls? Follow this link to read about Amrit whose lower caste status makes it difficult for her to travel and stay in the town where she could go to school.
Mamita was forced to marry after 10th grade. She now has three children and is trying to further her education so she can run a business. Her husband's family won't help her go to school. But YOU can help!
