When I was 18 years old and a freshman in college, I noticed a lump under my left arm. With urging from my family I got it checked out. Little did I know that my life was about to change forever. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melanoma. As of March 2017 it has been 42 years since that diagnosis. I am celebrating my life and being cancer free by riding the B Strong Ride on August 12th.
B Strong Ride is a bicycle event that celebrates cancer survivorship and funds a complete year of cancer care at the Boulder Community Hospital Center for Integrative Care and also benefits the George Karl Foundation.
Both organizations have deep personal impacts on people whose lives are impacted by cancer. Supporting them moves our riders and sponsors to super human efforts.
Founded in 2011, B Strong Ride has been an outstanding success:
- Over $2 million raised
- Over 4,500 riders
B Strong is for:
- Cyclists of all ages and abilities and
- Not just cyclists. B Strong is a family event with outstanding food and entertainment throughout the day. During and after the ride, Celestial Seasonings will be open for tours and tastings. There are also two great museums within a mile: Leanin' Tree Museum of Western Art and, Shelby American Collection.
