BENEFITING: EMERSON ROSE HEART FOUNDATION
In December of 2015, at 5 months old, our Son Jacob fell ill suddenly. After numerous Dr's visits and time in the PICU, it was discovered that he had a complex CHD known as Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV) with transposition of the great arteries. This was missed in utero, and through his many Dr's visits. It was something that could only be fixed through open heart surgery. Through the next few days and in the 18 months since then, we have found that we are a part of a very large base of families that encounter these types of issues. A CHD is as common as 1 in 100. These defects range from a watch and wait situation up to very grim outlooks for these precious children. I am looking to help raise money and awareness for families that are affected by the news that their precious gift from God, needs help. Not only is it crushing to find out, but then there is the need to go to where the Doctor's are that can help these babies. For many families, this includes missing work, living away from home, medical bills, etc... The cost is great, and the stress is high. Once the goal amount of funds has been reached, I will shave my beard. This beard has not been shaved off in well over a year and is not something I like to be without. Any money raised through this fundraiser will be split and shared evenly between Cross Bridge Ministries and Emerson Rose Heart Foundation (https://emersonroseheartfoundation.org/). These are two incredible organizations that helped my wife and I, as well as countless other families by providing free housing, meal tickets, and gas cards for parents of these children.
