The Bohall-Hutt-Cameron-Robson RWC scholarship fact sheet
In December of 2013, Jack and Esther Robson established the BHCR scholarship at Roberts Wesleyan College to honor the memory of their many family members who have passed thru Roberts. They created a vehicle of remembrance for family members to support future RWC students. At last count, there have been 43 family members from the BHCR tree that have a history with Roberts.
The scholarship requires an initial funding of $20,000, and the deadline for the initial endowment is December 31, 2018. When this total is reached, it will endow an annual scholarship disbursement of at least $1,000, or 5% of its principal. The Scholarship purpose is to support a student in an Education Major (Jack’s background), preferably from NY State. Contributions were first solicited several years ago from members of the extended Bohall, Hutt, Robson, Cameron and Frisbee families in honor of Jack’s and Esther’s four parents, each of whom were strong supporters of Roberts. The college and the BHCR families will also seek out classmates, colleagues, friends and staff from their years at RWC for ongoing contributions to the scholarship fund. Those who wish to donate to the scholarship fund can do so in one lump sum, or over a multi-year period. For example, a pledge of $1,000 can be prorated over five years, or $200 per year.
Donations can also be made through estate planning years in advance. The donation would then be made at the time of the settling of that estate. If the scholarship goal is reached sooner, the first grant awarded could be greater than $1,000. As of April 31, 2017 the current scholarship endowment balance is $11,009. We ask you to prayerfully consider a donation or estate plan contribution towards this worthy family scholarship. This is a wonderful opportunity to honor our distinguished elders who so gloriously paved the way for us, both personally and spiritually.
