Please help me build this home for people with disabilities in Kenya. I went to visit & I was very moved to help these amazing people.
If you know me you know I’m constantly on the move.
I live my life all over this wonderful planet and recently I was in Kenya with a bunch of friends. We spent some incredible time with the Maasai tribe who welcomed us into their homes and showed us the work they were doing to protect their land.
One day we went to visit the village and went inside the traditional home that is called a Boma. Boma’s are made from collected dung over a wood base. I was worried to go in thinking they would smell of dung but actually they smell of smoke as they have open fire pits in most of the and no real chimney. We were told about a few members of the community who were disabled and mostly were hidden away in shame.
A group of us are going to raise the funds to not only build a boma that is going to be especially equiped for people with disabilities but also there will be a program that will train the residents to do beading and crafts that they will be able to sell to tourists.
I'm really excited about this and I want your help.
Thank you for your support and I hope you will come with me and see it when it's all finished.
