I got involved with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in 2004. My mother passed away from Lymphoma in 2003 and it was and is a devastating loss to our family. With the help of friends we have raised over $100,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in the past 8 years. This year we have decided to run a half-marathon in honor my mom and all families affected by blood cancers.
I started out wanting to raise a little money for a good cause that might help me feel better about my family’s loss, but raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has become my passion. Nine years ago if you had asked me what I would be doing with my life now, I would never had said raising money to fight a cancer that my mother died from. This is personal for me and I am committed to helping raise awareness of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Founded in 1949, we are relentless in pursuit of our mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
Thank you for your continued support.
