Poor children in India need education as much as they need food- please donate to support their education!  See more

The Lifespring Centre is a small school located in New Seemapuri, a slum of New Delhi. When you look at it, you might see a yellow building, a little dirty, with an old sign. When you look inside, you see the amazing work that they are doing.

Lifespring is an alternative education program that encourages the children to stay in traditional school while learning more about the things that make a difference in their daily lives. Children are encouraged to think critically and learn skills that will keep them off the streets. Their mothers are taught how to sew and embroider, giving them the opportunity to become successful businesswomen. The children are evenly split between girls and boys, Muslim and Hindi. Lifespring teaches the children tolerance and peace in addition to their academic studies. Arts and elective classes are also offered.

The monthly cost to run this school is only $500, and they make a huge difference in the education of these children who so desperately need it. In 2010, one of the girls who started with the program in its first year as a kindergartner graduated and will be going on to college. Lifespring believes she is far from the last.

Please help the Lifespring Center support the education of children who, without its support, would live in poverty for their entire lives. Your donations go directly to the purchase of resources and shipping costs. As ever, you can help us make a difference, one book at a time!
