We lose 22 Veterans per day due to PTSD. In 2016 one Marine will hike the Pacific Crest Trail to raise awareness for the 22 and honor the memory of a Marine we lost because of PTSD. I will be starting the hike with the family of Chris "Cooch" Couitcher and hike south to Mexico. My hope is that we can start a dialog about PTSD, strip away the negative and replace it with something positive. Anyone who reads this is more than welcome to join me on the hike. It doesn't matter if it's for 20 minutes just to say hi or for as long as you want. If you are a Veteran reading this and you think you need help, reach out! There are people who will support you and get you back on track. Mission22 is an amazing charity, and 100% of any money raised will go directly to them. According to their website - "Mission 22 is a collaboration between Elder Heart, a veteran non-profit organization, and a global advertising agency. Elder Heart is comprised of Delta Force and Special Forces operators Tom Spooner, Magnus Johnson, and Mike Kissel. Because of their personal battles with PTSD and TBI they have made it their mission to raise awareness, enlist support, and end veteran suicide in America." Either through draft or volunteering our young men and women stood up for our country when asked. Let's stand up for them.
