BENEFITING: Architecture for Humanity
EVENT DATE: Nov 24, 2012
HOURS PLEDGED: 20
As you may know, my home state of New Jersey was devastated by the effects of Hurricane Sandy. Tens of thousands of people across the state were left homeless by the storm, and several of the Jersey Shore's businesses, schools and public attractions were damaged or destroyed .
As a result, on Friday, November 23rd, I will be running the 'Born to Run' 5 mile race in Freehold, NJ to raise money for Architecture for Humanity's Hurricane Sandy Relief & Restore the Shore funds.
Architecture for Humanity is a non-profit that provides design and construction services after disasters. They have pledged to help rebuild areas damaged by Sandy, and will be focused specifically on disaster mitigation and technical assistance to under-served communities. To learn more about their Hurrican Sandy Relief funds, visit: http://architectureforhumanity.org/programs/hurricane-sandy-reconstruction .
It would mean a great deal to me if you could aid me in helping those in my community in need. Any donation large or small is appreciated!
