BENEFITING: Boston Civic Symphony
Each spring, the Boston Civic Symphony holds a fundraiser to help support the upcoming season. This is done in connection with our final classical series concert, which takes place this year on Sunday, April 10 at NEC's Jordan Hall in Boston. Music Director Max Hobart, now celebrating his thirty-sixth year with the orchestra will conduct "A Salute to the BSO" featuring BSO cellist Mickey Katz, who began his career with the Civic. Katz will perform "Wiegala - A Lullaby," composed by Wellesley native Julia Scott Carey, and Bloch's "Schelomo - Hebraic Rhapsody." The concert will begin with a fanfare written for the Civic by legendary composer and conductor John Williams and conclude with Brahms Symphony No. 1. Our goal this year is to raise $10,000 to support the orchestra's 2016-2017 season.
