Buses from Boston to DC to protest Trump's inauguration
Organized by: Tom Arabia
EVENT DATE Jan 20, 2017
WHAT'S THE FUNDRAISER FOR?
Students from high schools and universities united with community members from the Boston metro area are raising money to mobilize hundreds of youth and workers to protest Trump and all he stands for at the Presidential inauguration in Washington D.C. on January 20th.
WHY RAISE MONEY?
Cost should not be a barrier to any student, youth or marginalized community member who are in the crosshairs of the right wing.
WHY ARE WE MOBILIZING?
The protest will send a message to the media, the rest of the country and world that Trump will face opposition from below from day one to whatever he believes he can get away with. We seek to create a renaissance of the 1960's spirit of mass, nation wide rebellion and protest for social justice, and to go beyond it. The national march on Washington is a key tactic.
Against Trump's and other elite politicians' agenda of maximizing the power and wealth of the oligarchy on the backs of millions of oppressed people, we seek to build vibrant activist networks on high schools, campuses and in communities to fight against war, mass incarceration, racism, sexual and gender based violence, against cuts to education and social services, for increased minimum wage, unionization and sustainability. We are building movements for sanctuary on several campuses, and in support of amendments for progressive taxation.
