BENEFITING: Boston Medical Center
ORGANIZER: Boston Medical Center
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
Friends and Family,
I am thrilled to be running the 2015 Boston Marathon in support of Boston Medical Center... let the adrenaline rush begin!
Like many of you, the folks at BMC hold a special place in my heart for providing the exceptional care that helped my childhood friend, JP Craven, return to full health following the events at the finish line two years ago. Their work on this day revealed to me just how important it is to continually support our community's safety net hospital. I've come to learn that BMC treats the majority of Boston's trauma cases every year and approximately 73% of its patients are from underserved populations.
My goal is to raise $10,000 towards BMC's new Emergency Department. Any donation ($25, $50, or $100) would certainly go a long way in helping me meet this goal and any kind of personal support...
- company on a training run
- sharing this link with others
- cowbell on race day
- Bruins goal song on race day
- extra alarm clock
- Kesha inspired playlist
... would be much appreciated!

26.2 MILES TO A NEW BMC!
For the past 12 years, Boston Medical Center has proudly participated in Boston’s historic Marathon, raising more than $2.16 million for the hospital. In 2014, BMC was fortunate to have our biggest team in history, comprised of 107 runners and led by honorary team captain, actor Kevin Spacey. But the true stars last year were our runners who pounded the pavement, crossed the finish line and helped raise more than $1.1 million, in honor of the victims and marathon survivors of 2013. We are grateful to John Hancock Financial and the Boston Athletic Association for making Team BMC possible and for recognizing the unique role BMC plays in keeping our city strong.
This year, philanthropic efforts from Team BMC will be dedicated to our Building the New BMC campaign which will include construction of a new, state-of-the-art Emergency Department for our region. Boston Medical Center has the busiest Emergency and Trauma Center in New England with 130,000 patients per year—more than two-thirds of Boston’s major trauma cases annually. Understanding that trauma does not discriminate and anyone may need our services in a moment’s time, Team BMC stands committed to ensuring Boston Medical Center remains one of the very best trauma centers in the country. By donating to Team BMC you are showing support for the entire city of Boston.
Thank you for supporting Boston Medical Center in our mission to provide exceptional care, without exception every day!
