Thank you for visiting my Team Boston Medical Center fundraising page—I appreciate your interest, time, and generosity.
The Boston Marathon is a celebration of the human spirit, of personal challenge and triumph, and above all else, a celebration of community.
Over the last 5 years I have overcome a few personal challenges myself. Running and the community I have formed through it have contributed significantly to my transition. On Monday, April 20, I will be running my final marathon of my World Marathon Majors project that I embarked on in April 2014.
I am incredibly proud and honored to be running as a representative for Boston Medical Center. On April 15, 2013, when Boston experienced one of its darkest hours, Boston Medical Center’s Emergency Department rose to the occasion to care for, and support the injured, and their loved ones. With the whole world watching, the essential character of BMC was revealed.
This year, philanthropic efforts from Team BMC will be dedicated to building the New BMC campaign which will include construction of a new, state-of-the-art Emergency Department for the region. Boston Medical Center has the busiest Emergency and Trauma Center in New England with 130,000 patients per year—more than two-thirds of Boston’s major trauma cases annually.
Again, I want to extend my most sincere thanks for your time in visiting my Team BMC fundraising page. I am asking for your support in this endeavor simply as a way to benefit a much-deserving cause. I have set a personal fundraising goal of $5,240 ($200 for every mile run!) and any contribution, no matter how big or how small, is a meaningful sign of support and is truly appreciated.
Also, please check with your employer if they match your contribution to the charity.
