BENEFITING: Boston Medical Center
ORGANIZER: Boston Medical Center
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
I'm raising money for the most amazing cause, the Boston Medical Center and I'd like to ask for you to help me!
Here's a link. It's really fast and easy.
Not only am I working hard to raise money for Boston Medical Center, running 26.2 miles, but I am donating my medal to a person who truly deserves it. I am beyond blessed to have run 4 marathons, I'm running Philadelphia on 11/23, then I'm running Disney in January and Boston will be my SEVENTH marathon! I truly believe in the saying "WE RUN FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT!". HELP ME! Help me get Joe his finishers medal!
On October 5, 2014 I ran a 5k in Manchester, Footrace for the Fallen. I placed in my age group (YAY) and waited around for my medal. I had planned on walking the ALS Walk in Manchester that day as well, so naturally, I was late.
I went to the walk, collected my shirt for fundraising and jogged most of the 1 mile course to catch up to the TEAM I was walking for, the Houlegans!
I found the Houlegans at the end of the course, they had already finished and were taking pictures. I jumped in of course for the photo op and Mr. Houle looked up at me and said "ARE YOU A MARATHON RUNNER?" and I thought first and said "why yes, yes I am", he looked at my medal I had just earned and said "its been my dream to run the Boston Marathon"....instantly I thought...dreams really do come true!
Help me (1) raise money and (2) get this finishers medal for Joe. Joe doesn't have much time, he is dying of ALS. He may not survive to see the medal, but he's in my prayers everyday that he does.
TEAM HOULE! Help me by donating and help me by sharing this link with any and all folks you know that would like to help me on this journey that I am blessed to be on.
THANK YOU A MILLION TIMES OVER FOR ANY SUPPORT YOU CAN OFFER!
26.2 MILES TO A NEW BMC!
For the past 12 years, Boston Medical Center has proudly participated in Boston’s historic Marathon, raising more than $2.16 million for the hospital. In 2014, BMC was fortunate to have our biggest team in history, comprised of 107 runners and led by honorary team captain, actor Kevin Spacey. But the true stars last year were our runners who pounded the pavement, crossed the finish line and helped raise more than $1.1 million, in honor of the victims and marathon survivors of 2013. We are grateful to John Hancock Financial and the Boston Athletic Association for making Team BMC possible and for recognizing the unique role BMC plays in keeping our city strong.
This year, philanthropic efforts from Team BMC will be dedicated to our Building the New BMC campaign which will include construction of a new, state-of-the-art Emergency Department for our region. Boston Medical Center has the busiest Emergency and Trauma Center in New England with 130,000 patients per year—more than two-thirds of Boston’s major trauma cases annually. Understanding that trauma does not discriminate and anyone may need our services in a moment’s time, Team BMC stands committed to ensuring Boston Medical Center remains one of the very best trauma centers in the country. By donating to Team BMC you are showing support for the entire city of Boston.
Thank you for supporting Boston Medical Center in our mission to provide exceptional care, without exception every day!
