BENEFITING: Boston Medical Center
ORGANIZER: Boston Medical Center
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
Hi everyone! Thank you for visiting my fundraising page in support of Team BMC. As a kid I would watch runners trek up heartbreak hill on President's Day, hoping that I would someday have the opportunity to run Boston. I couldn't be more excited to be running on behalf of Boston Medical Center. I have worked at BMC for nearly five years, and currently work as a nurse in the Pediatric Float Pool, floating between Pediatrics, the Pediatric ICU, the Neonatal ICU and the Pediatric Emergency Department.
On Marathon Monday in 2013, I was standing a block from the explosions and saw a chaotic glimpse of the terror that unfolded. Stunned and confused in the days and weeks that followed, I found that coming to work provided a healing atmosphere of resilience, therapy dogs and survivor triumphs throughout the hospital community. Boston Medical Center as a whole did a phenomenal job handling an incredibly difficult situation with teamwork, strength and dignity.
As a nurse I have the privilege of seeing life-changing interventions, as well as small miracles happen every time I come to work. Please support me as I run for Team BMC so that this incredible medical center can continue to provide exceptional care to those most in need. Thank you so much!

26.2 MILES TO A NEW BMC!
For the past 12 years, Boston Medical Center has proudly participated in Boston’s historic Marathon, raising more than $2.16 million for the hospital. In 2014, BMC was fortunate to have our biggest team in history, comprised of 107 runners and led by honorary team captain, actor Kevin Spacey. But the true stars last year were our runners who pounded the pavement, crossed the finish line and helped raise more than $1.1 million, in honor of the victims and marathon survivors of 2013. We are grateful to John Hancock Financial and the Boston Athletic Association for making Team BMC possible and for recognizing the unique role BMC plays in keeping our city strong.
This year, philanthropic efforts from Team BMC will be dedicated to our Building the New BMC campaign which will include construction of a new, state-of-the-art Emergency Department for our region. Boston Medical Center has the busiest Emergency and Trauma Center in New England with 130,000 patients per year—more than two-thirds of Boston’s major trauma cases annually. Understanding that trauma does not discriminate and anyone may need our services in a moment’s time, Team BMC stands committed to ensuring Boston Medical Center remains one of the very best trauma centers in the country. By donating to Team BMC you are showing support for the entire city of Boston.
Thank you for supporting Boston Medical Center in our mission to provide exceptional care, without exception every day!
