BENEFITING: Boston Medical Center
ORGANIZER: Boston Medical Center
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
Dear Friends & Family,
For those of you that are not aware, I will be running in the 2015 Boston Marathon this April, starting my first week as a 26 year old with my first 26.2 mile race! I am excited to challenge myself as I run for the city of Boston and I am honored and blessed to be running for the Boston Medical Center.
I have heard remarkable stories about BMC's exceptional patient experience through my boyfriend JP Craven; he was among those that were seriously injured during the events that took place at the finish line two years ago. Fortunately, the world-class treatment of the Boston Medical Center helped return JP to full health. His resilience and my appreciation for their great care is what inspires me to run for Team BMC.
BMC rose to the occasion on a dark day, but they provide the same level of exceptional care, without exception, EVERY day of the year. I am committed to raising $10,000 for the Boston Medical Center and running strong with the city I am proud to call home.
This is bound to be one of the most challenging experiences and I won't be able to do it alone. I will need your prayers. I will need your running playlists. I will need your financial contributions no matter the size. Most of all, I will need your cheers, your support, and your love to get me to the finish line on Patriots Day.
I hope that you will join me to support this great cause!

26.2 MILES TO A NEW BMC!
For the past 12 years, Boston Medical Center has proudly participated in Boston’s historic Marathon, raising more than $2.16 million for the hospital. In 2014, BMC was fortunate to have our biggest team in history, comprised of 107 runners and led by honorary team captain, actor Kevin Spacey. But the true stars last year were our runners who pounded the pavement, crossed the finish line and helped raise more than $1.1 million, in honor of the victims and marathon survivors of 2013. We are grateful to John Hancock Financial and the Boston Athletic Association for making Team BMC possible and for recognizing the unique role BMC plays in keeping our city strong.
This year, philanthropic efforts from Team BMC will be dedicated to our Building the New BMC campaign which will include construction of a new, state-of-the-art Emergency Department for our region. Boston Medical Center has the busiest Emergency and Trauma Center in New England with 130,000 patients per year—more than two-thirds of Boston’s major trauma cases annually. Understanding that trauma does not discriminate and anyone may need our services in a moment’s time, Team BMC stands committed to ensuring Boston Medical Center remains one of the very best trauma centers in the country. By donating to Team BMC you are showing support for the entire city of Boston.
Thank you for supporting Boston Medical Center in our mission to provide exceptional care, without exception every day!
