I joined Bottom Line as an Access Counselor in July 2013 and I have been challenged, overjoyed, and inspired during this time. In high school I remember feeling lost throughout the college application process, and I love being a person students can turn to feel confident about their future in college. I have had students come in for first meetings wearing bowties, resumes in hand, and ready to pitch why they are prepared for college. Although the purpose of this meeting is mostly informational, I cannot help but want to call an admissions office right away to explain they can stop their search, I have their student. In the Bottom Line office, students share some of their greatest personal struggles and accomplishments. As counselors we are not only a sounding board, but also a resource to tackle challenges or to celebrate successes.
When I was a young I use to handout water to Boston Marathon runners with my sisters and cousins; now I am fulfilling a life long dream by participating in the race. I am running for Bottom Line because I am passionate about education equality, and I see so many ways that we can could grow as an organization to support low-income and first-generation families from the Boston area. I am training with other non-profit organizations every Saturday and when I am laboring up Heartbreak Hill, I will remember all of the support I have received and how it is helping to change the lives of our students.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your support!

Bottom Line was founded in 1997 to help low-income and first-generation students get in to college, graduate from college, and go far in life. Since then, we have provided one-on-one guidance and mentoring to thousands of high school and college students. This year, we will be providing personalized support to over 3,000 students across Massachusetts and New York.
Bottom Line's 2015 Boston Marathon Team (Team Go Far) will run 26.2 miles on April 2oth as a way to contribute to our organization and the students we support. We're hoping to raise more than $120,000 this year through our marathon team, which will make a huge impact on our organization.
We hope you'll consider making a contribution to the team or a specific runner. Each member of Team Go Far has an interesting story and a personal motivation for our cause. We encourage you to get to know them.
Thank you. Whatever you can contribute will help our students get in, graduate, and go far!
