I am thrilled to have the opportunity to support Bottom Line Team for the 121st Boston Marathon. I started working at Bottom Line as a counselor in 2006 when we were a staff of 10 serving around 1200 students in Boston. Now, as a National organization with 4 sites, 140 staff, serving 6200 students, I am amazed at the level of growth that has happened in just 10 years. In my current role on the National Team I have had the opportunity to see our mission replicated in multiple sites and am proud of the incredible work of our staff to help students get in to college, graduate, and go far in life. Nationally, only one-third of low-income, first-generation students actually graduate from four-year public colleges. I feel incredibly fortunate to work for an organization that is solving this problem and am excited to increase funding and awareness for the work we do here in Massachusetts.
