BENEFITING: BOULDER FOOD RESCUE
EVENT DATE: Jul 31, 2016
Some of us spend extra money to buy healthy food for ourselves. Some of us spend extra money to buy healthy food for the environment. But what about spending extra for our local community? By making a contribution to Boulder Food Rescue, you are putting healthy food in the hands of low-income people.
Boulder Food Rescue aims to create a more just and less wasteful food system.
We care about food justice, food waste, access to healthy and culturally appropriate food, decreasing barriers to accessing food, BIKES, community-based and participatory work, being inclusive, collaboration, and building relationships with people.
We need your help! We cannot do this work without your support. Your donations are an integral part of our efforts to create a more just and less wasteful food system.
We are thrifty and creative, so your contributions go a long way in redistributing healthy food to those who need it most.
$1: 5 lbs. of food distributed (or 15 apples!) Could you imagine buying 15 apples for a $1?
$100: 500 lbs. of food distributed (or 58 gallons of milk)
$250: 1,250 lbs. of food distributed (or 3,750 bell peppers)
$500: 2,500 lbs. of food distributed (or a small beluga whale... wait, what?!)
$1,000: 5,000 lbs. of food distributed (or 3,333 canteloupes... don't make me pull that on a trailer!)
No matter how large your investment is, its going right into improving healthy food access for your community.
