"Taylor and I grew up in Edgemont, NY together and became good friends when we were both accepted into our high school's alternative education program. Taylor had been battling cancer since sixth grade, yet it wasn't her illness that most associated her with. Instead all of her incredible qualities - her intellect, kindness, sense of humor, determination, courage, and ultimately her undying generosity - made her one of the most beloved members of the Edgemont community. Taylor created her own charity called Tay-Bandz, raising money for pediatric cancer research through the sale of hair accessories and jewelry, so that even when she was sick, she was still serving others to the best of her ability. Taylor passed away our junior year of high school, the same weekend I visited Bowdoin for the very first time, yet Tay-Bandz still thrives in her memory - having raised well over $1 million, its work is still needed and its fundraising is still growing. Join me in commemorating the life of my friend, and helping those who fight cancer every day." - Simon Bordwin
