EVENT: Strike Out Bullying 2017
EVENT DATE: Jul 09, 2017
Sawgrass Lanes - 8501 N. University Drive, Tamarac, FL 33321
5 people per lane. Includes 2 drink tickets + Bowling shoes.
Join Team Josh and help a 15 year old hispanic student name Gisela attend a leadership summit at FIU over the Summer. Want to learn more about Gisela? She shared these things on her application.
Have you or someone close to you ever been bullied? Please explain the situation and outcome:
"Yes a friend and I were bullied because of our race and appearance saying that we were "too white" or "to Hispanic" or that we "were ghetto wannabes" along with racial slurs. We ,thankfully, have found a group that has accepted and loved us for who we are and that dont care for our looks."
Besides earning service hours, why is it important to you to attend a conference like PALS?:
"Because I attended PALS this past year I now know that its a safe place for anyone to be themselves and I think that having that kind of place to go to at least once a year is really important not only to better myself but to also let go and be free to figure out who I am as a person and a leader."
It would mean so much to her to attend. Help me reach my goal.
On Sunday, July 9th join us at “Brunch and Bowl to Strike out Bullying” and help raise money to support NVEEE's Peace Ambassador Leadership Summit (PALS) for high school students. Whether you are a young professional just entering the workforce, or someone more seasoned and ready for retirement, we can all agree on one thing, BULLYING SUCKS! This is an opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of young people in South Florida schools by connecting with other young professionals and network for a good cause.
1. Register as an Individual Bowler.
