26.2 miles, for all the homeless, sick, abused, hungry dogs who need a chance! $1.00 per mile, nickle a mile....it all adds up. No amount is too small! I will be running the Tuscon, AZ Marathon December 11th in honor of my most dependable, always ready to run, running partners......my rescued boxers and foster dog!
In May we adopted "Lucy" who has been a wonderful addition to our family. She is just the entertainment "Rex" needed. We love them so much, in an effort to help, we are now fostering "Maple". Maple was pulled from a gassing shelter in Western, NC. She was days from missing her a chance here on earth. She was full of fleas, hungry, underweight, and scared. Thanks to Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue she was RESCUED and is now getting her much derserved second chance at life! You can only wonder what those big brown eyes have seen and the stories she could tell! We can tell you that she is a spirted, fun loving puppy who is loving being part of the "Martin Dog Pack" Please consider a donation so there will be many more Maple stories. Unfortunately, not all stories are as good as maple's. Starved, abused, and sick dog of all breeds go into shelters daily! Spay and Nueter your pets! Consider a rescue!
Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit Boxer rescue based out of Hickory, North Carolina. Our current coverage area is throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and parts of Virginia. All of our rescued Boxers are in FOSTER HOMES and are not kenneled at a facility. This way, the dogs receive one on one care, as well as the love attention that only comes from being in a family environment. We learn their likes, dislikes, and temperament and can address any illnesses or behavior problems quickly. They live indoors with our own pets, as they are our very own!
