BENEFITING: BOYS2MEN HOME AND SANCTUARY FOR YOUTH INC
Boys2Men Home & Sanctuary for Youth, Inc. (B2M), a 501c3 charitable organization, was created ten years ago for the purpose of bringing hope to male youth ages 13-25. This underserved segment of our society includes young men who’ve been neglected and marginalized at crucial stages in their development.
B2M was founded in 2004 by N. Jean Hudley, whose passion for working with male youth evolved out of her experiences in Fulton County Juvenile Court. As a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Child Abuse Victims (CASA), Jean spent eight years working for the rights of abused and neglected children who were incarcerated or in shelters, group homes and foster care environments. Her additional experience came through five years as a Superior Clerk Court working in the Criminal Docket and Closed File Divisions. Through this work, she recognized the need for intervention on a non-judicial level.
As a Wrap-Around Services provider, B2M’s first and fundamental objective is to provide safe haven and life skills to adjudicated youth. But because Ms. Hudley knows from experience the challenges young men face when they leave detention, B2M goes further to intercede by dispelling negative influences through positive programs and services. B2M’s goal is to surround these young men with positive role models and mentors who will love them where they are, while exposing them to the many possibilities available in life.
Boys2Men urgently needs your financial support. Your donation will help launch these lifesaving programs:
*The Equine Assisted Psychotherapy Program --An emerging field in which horses are used as a tool for emotional growth and learning. Using horses in group activities has shown to be a powerful resource in teaching relationship building, problem-solving, leadership skills, communication, assertiveness and creative thinking. It has also been instrumental in character building, self-esteem and self-worth.
*The Cultural Exchange Program -- Currently in the embryonic stage, is designed to encourage youth from two diverse cultures to explore their similarities and how that lack of knowledge has affected all of America’s youth. Our initial project will engage Native American high school student in the state of Montana. Our goal is to grow the program and extend it to different cultures as an ongoing yearly project.
*Determined2Win Residential Academy--A full-time housing facility that will provide the safety, support and positive reinforcement for young men who need to stay on a path to success. Within the facility, they will receive certifiable skills that are essential for young men re-entering their communities and society.
Boys2Men is asking for help from friends, colleagues, community leaders and others who support programs developed to reduce recidivism and the tide of wasted young lives. Our youth deserve a chance, and B2M is fighting to give them one. Click the donate link and give generously so that we can continue to save our youth and fight the good fight.
