A beautiful smile for a beautiful soul!
Jennifer is 14 y/o and has been in care since 2014. She always helps her foster mother when they have big projects like cleaning the garage and packing. Her foster mother reports Jennifer is “perfect”; she is always compliant and an easy going teenager which makes her very unique. Currently, Jennifer is in a long term placement, and her foster mother would like to adopt her, but Jennifer is loyal to her biological mother and doesn’t want to be adopted for fear of losing her mother. Jennifer stays in communication with her bio mother with approved cell phone calls as desired. Her biological mother is still having issues that prohibit her from gaining custody of Jennifer. Even though she misses her mother, Jennifer likes her foster home and enjoys the fact that her foster mother is interactive with her. She recently received a wish for a new board game and plays it with her foster mother for quality bonding time as she is placed by herself in this home.
Jennifer is also a smart girl who tries hard to keep her grades high. She does very well in school, has made the A/B honor roll, and is a member of the National Junior’s Honor Society. Jennifer was even accepted into an accelerated school next year so she can advance in her missed year. She enjoys reading and playing games, and is very active in her local church youth group. She had a week long camp session with the church in which she was able to volunteer in her community.
Jennifer is a shy girl who is quite self-conscious about her smile. She would love to have braces in order to straighten her teeth, and her foster mom states that this would give Jennifer a better self-image of herself. Braces are rather costly and Medicaid will not cover the cost for them. Jennifer would be overjoyed if her wish came true and would feel more confident than ever before.
