THE STORY:

Hello!

My name is Brad Anderson and I was recently accepted by the World Teach program, a non-profit organization based through Harvard University, to teach in the Marshall Islands for the 2011-2012 school year. I am 20 years old, a senior at Metro State College of Denver majoring in English with an emphasis and minor in Secondary Education.

While I am only required to have a $2,000 deposit, I also need to raise enough money to cover my expenses and credit card payments while I am living abroad. I will as part of the program receive a small living wage to cover food and necessities the likelihood of being completely off the gird is quite real, thus making any additional funds I have left over nearly impossible to pay for my life I have here in the states.

As I will be student teaching next semester it will make it additionally difficult to work and save money myself for this once in a life time opportunity. I would so greatly appreciate any help you can offer more than you can ever know. In the event I over-fundraise I plan on donating the money back to the school and community I will be teaching in.

With this great website does come a great opportunity for connecting with everyone but it does drain a little bit of money from the donation fund. For this reason, please feel free to donate "off-line" via a check, cash, or any other way that you can. I really, really appreciate even a few dollars.

Thank you so very much for donating and spreading the word. Please, please share this event on very social networking site possible and email to everyone you know.
