Brad's fight with Cancer
Organized by: Theresa Partain
Brad Cullins father to 3 baby girls and husband to Phyllis Cullins found out in May something was wrong with his leg, many drs appointments later in June it was indeed cancer ( Chondroblastic Osteosarcome Bone Cancer). Prognosis was that after 3 strong doses of chemo they would then do surgery on his knee to remove the tumor, which has ended up being alot more envssive than expected. He will be out of work anywhere from 3 to 6 months. He will start another round of strong chemo about 2 weeks after surgery and the doctors seem to be real hopeful that all would be well after that. Chemo started in July after the first round Brad realized he was not as strong as he thought and had numerous weeks/days of work missed, while his employer has been very generous and kind by allowing vacation time now that its time for sugery he is out of all sick and vacation days, his wife who primarily takes him to all appointments and treatments has been out of vacation time since June. The upcoming surgery is scheduled for October 10th Brad will be out for 3-6 months and Phyllis will be out for a week definitely (with no pay) while he is still in the hospital and then any times necessary to care for her husband. While Brad is eligible for short term disability it will only be a small fraction of his normal paycheck and he will have to pay for cobra insurance out of that. Lets help this family with a few months of bills while Brad is out of work and his wife will be in/out of work caring for him.
