BENEFITING: GLOBAL EMERGENCY CARE COLLABORATIVE
EVENT DATE: Jun 02, 2017
Want to help save lives? Then JOIN ME in this fundraiser. Developing healthcare training and systems to save lives and reduce suffering is itself a marathon endeavor...and this is an opportunity to raise awareness and funding by participating in the Uganda International Marathon. As part of my work with Global Emergency Care I'm seeking pledges/sponsorship as I join our GEC Emergency Care Practitioners in this race. The sneak-peak of the nearly-final GEC video will further explain our organization and the inherent sustainability and scalability of our model.
I'm seeking to have my painful training and running raise enough funds to train ECPs, who are estimated to 40,000 patients over EACH of their careers. So, you're support and my running have the potential to touch tens-of-thousands of lives, by enabling emergency departments to be staffed with well trained providers.'
My goal is to run this half-marathon in <2hrs...if I succeed, wouldn't you consider giving a little extra. I tell you what, if we reach our $7,000 fundraising goal for GEC, I'll add an additional $1000 match...and if your generosity and belief in GEC's train-the-trainer model raises $14,000, I'll add an aditional $2000 match.
That's $0.18 Per life saved or positively impacted by the Emergency Care Practitioner (given a training cost of $7000 and an estimated 40,000 patients seen over an ECP's 20yr clinical career)
So, won't you donate a days worth of income to save thousands of lives?
