BENEFITING: MONMOUTH COLLEGE
EVENT DATE: Nov 16, 2013
THE STORY:
My little brother Brad was a talented artist, a dedicated friend, a natural musician. He was a big guy with a big heart, a sensitive soul, a sweet sense of humor. Two years ago today, he died from an accidental drug overdose just four days after attending his first college class. Brad had planned to study criminal justice and wanted to counsel struggling teens, to make a difference in their lives and inspire change as others were inspiring in him.
We believe strongly in the transformative experience of higher education and enthusiastically supported Brad's college plans. To honor Brad's endeavors for personal betterment, today, we seek to help others facing similar barriers pursue opportunities for education.
Beginning on the day he died and running until his 24th birthday on November 15th, we will be raising scholarship funds to donate to the Philosophy and Religious Studies department at Monmouth College, our alma mater. We pledge the first $250 and hope that you will give as you feel led. In celebration of Brad's twenty-one years of life, we invite all who knew and loved him and all who feel compelled to honor him to join us in helping his legacy live on.
Thank you for your generosity!
