BENEFITING: National Braille Press, Inc.
ORGANIZER: National Braille Press, Inc.
EVENT DATE: Jan 04, 2017
National Braille Press has published so many of the books which I enjoyed while growing up--such as the Harry Potter series--and continues to do so much to empower blind children and adults through promoting Braille and tactile graphics literacy. When some of my neuroscience colleagues and I were interested in making a 3D-printed Braille-labeled model of the brain, NBP immediately jumped onboard with us to make this happen. Being a proficient Braille reader has enriched my life on so many levels, and has been essential to my academic and professional success. So many blind students who could benefit from reading Braille still are not given the chance to learn it, and I'm excited to support NBP in changing this so that others will have the opportunity to succeed at their full potential. I'm grateful for all of your support, and am looking forward to spending a Wednesday evening bike-busing for Braille!

Celebrate Louis Braille's 208th Birthday on Wednesday, January 4th!
National Braille Press and BikeBus have partnered for a Bike-A-Thon to raise awareness and funds for literacy for blind children and adults-- all made possible by the creator of the self-named code, Louis.
NBP's Braille Bikers will embark on a 45 minute ride on BikeBus, a mobile cycling studio that gives you a fun, scenic, heart-pumping workout as you coast through tunnels, sprint on highways, and climb up bridges. Support Team NBP's efforts in honor of Louis Braille and make a difference in the lives of blind children and adults.
