BENEFITING: American Cancer Society
My father, Mark was diagnosed with Primary Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. His case was the most unusual, my mom and I had gone through watching. I was nine years old when we received a call from the nursing home he stayed at. On this day, I was sleeping. Mom answered the phone. She woke me up several hours later, and told me I was not going to school today, telling me that dad died. I was speechless and asked when, as my mom and I began to cry. The date was September 28th, 2004. His birthday was October 11th. He died just before his birthday. I am doing this in his memory, so anyone currently ill with this type of cancer has the chance to survive and have many birthdays to come. My mom and I did everything in our power to keep him alive. Now I am at the age of 19. Medicine that is out for this is really expensive, I want to give to people that cant afford the medicine the money to get it. My mom is loving, strong and a courageous woman. We don't want ANYONE to go through what we had. Losing a loved one is bad enough, but losing my father at a young age is even worse. I don't want ANY other kid to go through that. Join me and help fight against Brain Cancer!!
