BENEFITING: BRAIN TUMOR FOUNDATION
ORGANIZER: BRAIN TUMOR FOUNDATION
Hello Friends & Family!
Thanks to everyone for their support since my Dad, Rich Freitas, passed away last year. As many of your know, in January 2015 he was diagnosed with metastatic brain tumors and underwent surgery. While recovering from surgery, doctors discovered more tumors in his brain so he underwent another surgery in February 2015. He lost his battle with cancer on May 30th, 2015 and while it's still a struggle without my Dad, I find comfort in honoring his memory and raising funds for a fantastic organization that has supported my entire family through this experience.
I am currently training for the New York City Marathon which takes place on November 6th, 2016 and am committed to raising awareness and funds for the Brain Tumor Foundation. This organization has been an invaluable resource for my family and I am running in memory of my Dad. My Dad was the first person to introduce me to running-YES-we used to go running together when we both were a lot younger! I have great memories running with my Dad and I'm confident he'd be so excited that I'm able to run this race alongside my sister, Rachel.
Thank you all so much for your continued love and support!
