Brain tumors are real and there’s a good chance it will happen to someone you know or someone you love in your lifetime. -Mark Ruffalo
My name is Lisa DiCicco and I am thrilled to be running as a part of the Brain Tumor Foundation for a second time! After my Aunt Teresa’s untimely passing, the act of running (an activity we both loved) provided a necessary sanctuary for me. A moment in time where I could reflect on the wonderful women she was, and, how much she taught me. Thus, in 2014, when the opportunity to run in the NYC marathon and raise money for The Brain Tumor Foundation arrived, I jumped at it. A decision that was a true blessing, as I’ve never felt so accomplished both physically and mentally because I was able to raise $3,780 for such a noteworthy cause.
Knowing that I could be helping another person receive a brain scan and detect a brain tumor before it’s too late, made me come back for more in 2016 with a goal to raise $4,000.
Please support me in efforts to raise awareness of the need for early detection of brain tumors. DONATE TODAY!
The Brain Tumor Foundation guides and supports patients and families during the turbulent times when their lives are touched by a brain tumor offering support groups, medical referrals and informational events.
*Close to 1 million people are living with brain tumors that have yet to be detected.*
