Brandon was born in Pittsburgh, PA on the day of the 1981 Boston Marathon and Don Mattingly's birthday, which might have been a sign of things to come with HRBI. He has a PhD in Psychology from the University of Iowa and is currently a schizophrenia researcher at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. His volunteer work in Boston includes literacy and education promotion through advocacy for the Boston Public Library, running his local branch's Friends of the library group, and tutoring/editing at 826 Boston. He has been running marathons since 2001 and the NYC marathon will be his 10th marathon but 1st raising money for charity and 1st as a father. To squeeze in training he has taken to commuting via running. He ran his last marathon in minimalist "shoes" (i.e., practically barefoot) and looks forward to running free through the streets of New York for Harlem RBI!
This is the final push!
Nobody embodies the spirit of giving and leadership like Pittsburgh favorite,#21, Roberto Clemente. In honor of him and the good folks at HarlemRBI, I am asking 175 people to donate $21 to me and I am also going to run 21 miles each of the next 4 Sundays leading up to the marathon on November 6th. I hope you can donate to help me out!
