BENEFITING: A LEG TO STAND ON INC
Update: Brandon Successfully summits Mount Whitney on 8-20-2015
Hi, On August 20th, Brandon, my 11 year old son and I plan to climb Mt. Whitney, the tallest mountain in the the contiguous United States (14,505 feet). We plan to to hike to the summit of Mount Whitney and back, an extremely challenging 22 mile hike, in a single day. Brandon is passionate about hiking and he is sad to know that there are so many children who cannot enjoy hiking because of their limb disabilities. He wants to help these children all over the world to be able to walk. We hope to raise money for A Leg to Stand On (www.ALTSO.org) which is a non profit organization that provides prosthetic limbs, orthotic devices and rehabilative care to children with limb disabilities in the developing world. Any amount donated will help these children. You can make your 100% tax deductable donations either before our hike on August 20th or after Brandon successfully climbs to the highest point in the continental Unites States. We set a modest goal of $1500 but hope to raise more to help as many children as we can. For every $250 raised, we can help one child to receive a prosthetic leg. We plan to take on this challenge of summitting Mount Whitney on August 20th, 2015. We will post our pictures and videos of our hike from that date on our facebook account that we created.
