You will hear from our featured notable speaker/presenter Zoë Damacela. She is a 19 year old fashion designer from Chicago, IL. She’s the President and CEO of Zoë Damacela Apparel (www.zoedamacela.com), a clothing company for young women. She looks forward to sharing her story and hopes that the things that she has learned along the way can help others. Zoe stated in a recent interview “I’ll have to tell you more and how I went from selling a few dresses to friends to being on the cover of Seventeen Magazine and even meeting President Obama in the Oval Office!” Zoe also appeared on The Tyra Banks Show and Oprah Angel Network. Next, from Atlanta Georgia, Tiffani and Tanya Phelps have set out to change the lives of young ladies across the country. The two have formed an organization called Fly-Chicks, Inc. to advocate the importance of having a healthy self-esteem and making positive life decisions. By using creative approaches to bridge the communication gap between younger and older generations, Fly-Chicks, Inc. provides several platforms for ladies of all ages to share their experiences and words of wisdom. With a vision to empower young ladies to realize their inner value and purpose, Fly-Chicks, Inc. will use a variety of tools to promote positive and transformational messages nationwide. With a firm belief that we are affirmed because of our experiences, Fly-Chicks, Inc. uses a variety of interactive tools, programs and activities to send a message to young ladies that they should not feel isolated or alone. We also have the lovely Latoyia Jones and Karyn Washington. Latoyia is from Cleveland Ohio. She is the CEO of Alive on Purpose (www.imaliveonpurpose.com), an organization whose mission is to transform teens and adults through the tearing down of old ideas and beliefs in order to rebuild hope and purpose through knowledge, awareness, and healing. She teaches classes and conducts seminars to help both adults and teens bridge the connection between their past experiences in order to find the proper completion to move forward with their lives. Karyn Washington is from Baltimore Maryland. Karyn created her acclaimed organization to empower girls to be confident and embrace the skin they’re in. College Lifestyles chatted with Karyn to discuss her own personal struggles with “Shadeism” and how she overcame it. She feels that “For many years there has been a divide between what is considered beautiful.”Along with our featured guest, we will have breakout sessions, some hands on workshops, but most importantly words of wisdom from those with personal experiences that will benefit and encourage all attendees.
