It's time to kick off the National Ovarian & Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Campaign for the month of September!!!
On Sept 24, 2016 the Kindah Foundation hosting the first ever in South Florida "TEAL 5K Walk/Run" to celebrate all Ovarian and Gynecologic Cancer survivors, the strength of their families, and bring awareness to the community and the people of South Florida.
You can make a difference starting today, by creating your own fundraising page, donate on behalf of a loved one, support the runners, or yourself.
Facts about ovarian and cervical cancer:
1 in 67 women will develop ovarian cancer in their lifetime. Every 37 minutes, a woman in this country dies from ovarian cancer . . . Most could have survived.
Each year close to half a million women are diagnosed globally with cervical cancer and of those who are diagnosed in the U.S., 32 percent of women will die in the five years following their diagnosis.
Human papillomavirus, or HPV, is a lead cause of cervical cancer.
HPV infection causes more than 96% of all cervical cancers, 93% of anal cancers, 64% of vaginal cancer.
The facts might not be easy to face, but the great news is there are a variety of steps you can take to be proactive!
