THE STORY:

We are raising funds to help equip and empower low-income individuals and families to be self-sustained. Avenue of Life envisions a community free of poverty through community development, collaborative partnerships, and wrap-around services.

Through the use of their four programs; the Equipping Center, Business Training Center, Internships and Neighborhood Renewals, Avenue of Life is able to bring the community together to help eliminate poverty in children and families. The KCK Equipping Center provides programs and services designed to help emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually. KCMO Business Training Center Programs allow for job training, career-development, discipleship, job-fairs, apprenticeships, internships, recycling jobs, mentoring, neighborhood beautification and economic development. The KCK and KCMO Internship program provides two tracks, work readiness and community development, to help individuals achieve independence, self-sufficiency and life goals. Finally, the KCK and KCMO Neighborhood Renewal Program provides community development and combats urban decay. Avenue of Life is also working on a current partnership with the Kansas City Kansas Public School District to help eliminate homelessness in the KCK school district and move towards prevention by 2020. “We are inspired by Avenue of Life’s determination and perseverance to help individuals in our community achieve goals and overcome economic difficulties.”

With the help of your recommendation, we would like to help Avenue of Life continue to impact the lives of those fighting poverty in our community.
